We keep this simple: we collect only what we need, we do not sell your data, and we respect your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit our website, make a purchase, or subscribe to our newsletter, how we use it, and what rights you have under the GDPR.

a) When purchasing a font license or a physical product (e.g. a book):

First name and last name
Email address
Billing address (street, postcode, city, country)
Phone number
VAT number (optional, if provided)

b) When downloading a trial font:

Email address (if requested), to send the download link.

c) When subscribing to our newsletter:

Email address
First name (if provided)

We do not collect or have access to your payment card information. All payments are securely processed by Stripe, Inc., which operates under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).

We do not use cookies, tracking technologies, or analytics tools. No data about your browsing behaviour is collected or stored by us.

3. Why We Collect Data

We process your personal data solely for the following purposes:

To fulfill your order and deliver the purchased font license or physical product.
To arrange shipping of physical products (e.g. books) to the address you provide.
To issue invoices and maintain sales records for legal and tax purposes.
To provide access to free trial fonts upon request.
To send our newsletter to subscribers who have given their explicit consent.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose beyond what is listed above.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data on the following legal bases:

Contract — to process and fulfill your purchase, including delivery of physical products.
Consent — for downloading free trial fonts and for subscribing to our newsletter. You may withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by contacting us at info@mbartype.com.
Legal obligation — for invoicing and compliance with Polish tax and accounting law.

5. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your email address (and first name if provided) to send you updates about new font releases, promotions, and other news from Mbar Type

Subscribing to the newsletter is entirely optional and can be done:

By checking the 'subscribe to newsletter' box during checkout.
Via a dedicated sign-up form on our website.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter, or by emailing us at info@mbartype.com. Upon unsubscribing, your email address will be removed from our mailing list within 30 days.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

Stripe, Inc. — our payment processor. Stripe handles all payment transactions on our behalf and is subject to its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Shipping carriers — for physical product orders only, we share your name and delivery address with the carrier responsible for fulfilling the shipment.

No other third parties have access to your personal data.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics tools, or any other technologies that monitor your behaviour on this website. Your visit leaves no trace with us beyond what is strictly necessary to serve the page.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:

Purchase and invoice records — 5 years, to comply with Polish accounting and tax law.
License records — indefinitely, to verify license ownership if requested.
Shipping records — 2 years from the date of delivery.
Trial font requests — deleted after 2 years if no purchase follows.
Newsletter subscribers — retained until you unsubscribe, after which your data is deleted within 30 days.

9. Your Rights

As a data subject under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification — to request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure — to request deletion of your data, where applicable.
Right to withdraw consent — at any time, for data collected on the basis of consent (including newsletter subscription).
Right to object — to processing based on legitimate interests.
Right to lodge a complaint — with the Polish data protection authority (UODO — Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych, uodo.gov.pl).
